Ann screens, evaluates and provides speech/language therapy to our students as needed. In addition, she presents language stimulation lessons to develop and enhance our student’s communication skills. As consultant to teachers and parents, Ann shares information and strategies that are important in the reinforcement process.
We at Castle Academy are so very happy to provide these services as an integral part of our program. We know that you will appreciate this unique and valuable addition to our school.
Computer Program
Computer class is offered to all of our students twice weekly for 45 minute lessons. The computer lab is equipped with 12 New IMac computers!
Bringing technology to our students is only one aspect of the computer program at Castle Academy. Each month the students will learn new computer terms to encourage correct usage. The students will also be introduced to new software each month. The programs cover math, science, reading, the internet and much more. These programs encourage the children to have fun while reinforcing the skills learned in their classes.
Each classroom has a Dell computer with internet access. We provide our middle school students with their own wireless laptop for use in school. Additionally, we have approximately 200 programs available for student use. Accessing the internet, with its many research possibilities, is an integral part of our daily program.

Spanish Program
Castle Academy is proud to provide your child with the opportunity to learn what is rapidly becoming our nation’s second language. Heydie Rios has joined our team with a Master’s degree from the Interamerican University in Puerto Rico and her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Puerto Rico.
Our goal is to teach your child to understand and speak elementary Spanish through songs, rhymes, total physical response and videos. Pre-kindergarten will learn colors, shapes, counting and other basic skills. Repetition and a hands on approach are the keys to learning from kindergarten through the fourth grade. Each week’s lesson introduces vocabulary and includes activities for reinforcement.
The middle school Spanish program is designed to help students learn Spanish by getting them to communicate from the start, and to understand the language by matching what is heard with what is seen or experienced. Individual and group projects reinforce the language. At the end of each chapter, students have a written review and a test.
At the High School level our focus turns to a more formal exploration of the language while keeping it fun and exciting for our students.

Physical Education Program
We are proud to partner Royal Fitness (located next door to The Kids Castle!) for your child’s physical education. Royal Fitness provides your child with professional instruction in a safe, effective well-balanced and fun workout. The program is diverse, addressing cardiovascular, fine and gross motor skills, coordination and team building. We at Castle Academy are very happy to provide such an enjoyable program for your child.
Art
In art class, our pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students review and learn new colors, shapes, and textures. They create artwork using multiple techniques in both two and three dimensions and are introduced to the artists whose work relates to the ideas and processes we use for each project.
Our first through fourth graders are presented with more sophisticated concepts and terminology. Students receive a full art history lesson with each project.
Art for fifth grade and up strikes a fine balance between art history, complex concepts and processes, and really fostering students’ creative spirits. Students are given the tools and knowledge to create and are also encouraged to come up with alternate methods.
